My name is Kate, but most of my friends call me Kat or some variation thereof. Some of them call me Katie, but they're lucky to still be living. I'm officially in my late twenties and have spent far too long in academia. Apparently I love it, as I am working towards becoming a community college teacher. You can find my CV here.

Personal-life wise, I'm terminally single and surprisingly happy that way. I'm a compulsive loner, and generally prefer my computer and cat to a crazy party. Even so, I have several kick-ass best friends, to whom I owe my sanity. My hobbies include poetry writing, chatting, web design, manga and anime, scuba diving, swimming, Japanese, music and reading. Obsessions are far too many to mention.
